A 4-hour minimum indicates that you will get paid for 4 hours regardless if the work gets done in a shorter amount of time. An 8-hour minimum is similar to a 4-hour work call, however, the difference between them is you get an hour of unpaid walkaway lunch time or a 30-minute on-the-clock lunch break provided by the client or vendor.
A split-shift work call consists of both a load-in and load-out on the same day. For example, workers will come in for a load-in time of 8AM-12PM and be back for the load-out starting at 10PM-2AM.
A work call that goes past midnight will count every hour past 12AM as overtime (OT). OT pay rate is double your base rate for that work call.
Yes and no.
Work calls that involve setup days will generally be a 1-hour walkaway unpaid lunch break. You either provide your own lunch meal or go find your own in around the area.
On event and show days, you are entitled to a 30-minute paid lunch break with the meal provided by the client or vendor.
